(1958 12:00 AM) I set sail from the port of A Coruña aboard the ship Montserrat, leaving my wife, parents, children, friends and my whole life behind. I hope to see you again. Montserrat 1958 was born in honour of all the Galician emigrant families. It is a contemporary reinterpretation of the iconic suitcases used in the 1950s. Its distinctive cloud shape not only evokes the dream of a promising tomorrow, but also the uncertainty they faced when wondering if they would ever return to their homeland. In addition, as the most representative meteorological element of Galicia, the cloud symbolises a deep connection with the land and the constant hope of returning to it. 100% handmade, made with a cultural design and 100% respecting ethics in all processes.

At Rotsen we are committed to using skins from animals raised in Galicia and free-range, which are left over from meat consumption.

For Montserrat 1958 we used:
·Shell Cordovan. This skin is the most luxurious
after the exotics. It comes exclusively from the two haunches or group of the horse, each animal provides only two small portions of this skin.

Our tannery, with more than 170 uninterrupted years of experience and family history, is the oldest in Galicia (they started in 1850). They carry out 100% natural tanning, using tannin as a natural tanning agent, a substance found in plant matter. They use natural dyes in a water bath with a low pH. Unlike other dyes, this one penetrates all the layers of the skin, providing a long-lasting colour.
